New artists, Manu Callejon and Rebecca Green join the Tugeau 2 team

Tugeau 2 is proud to welcome Manu Callejon and Rebecca Green to our team of T2 authors and illustrators.

Manu Callejon is a native of Granada Spain, he illustrates using a series of  geometric shapes and limited color palattes. Manu along with his partner Laura Gamero have published two children’s books with La Tribu Ediciones and Barbara Fiore Editora in Spain.

Rebecca Green is an mixed media illustrator of traditional materials to create her narrative based images. Rebecca is currently working with client Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and author Sy Montgomery, as well as on her own book with Tundra.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for both of these great additions to the Tugeau 2 team.

Book Expo 2016

Nicole recently attended the Book Expo of America for three days in windy Chicago. There she met a variety of prominent outstanding publishers, attended breakout sessions and the inspiring Children’s Book and Author breakfast Friday morning.  She also got to see our artists’ work on display all over the conference floor, attend their signings, and spend time with them one on one. Overall Nicole had a great weekend, networking, celebrating our team’s accomplishments, and opening doors for future opportunities. This amazing weekend reaffirmed that children’s publication is a thriving industry yearning for new content!

Throwback Thursday Moving Postcard

We found this wonderful memory while cleaning out the cache of promotional materials in the basement. A 2006 Marilyn Janovitz original! It’s T2’s “We’re Moving” postcard sent out to the industry featuring me, Jeremy, and Ruby. Our second child, George, was just a few months away. We’ve come along way! In so many ways. Happy Thursday!

Great reviews for Natalia Vasquez’s Catching Fish!

Getting ready…

Thursday Afternoon

Well I’m still reeling from the launch of our new website last week.  The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and I can’t tell you how good it feels to work from this new space. The Artists are settling in as well — the site is editable and accessible to them 24 / 7 which is nothing short of amazing —  working out the kinks, uploading and editing their portfolios with notes to me along the way.  I’m loving the conversations this has opened up and the new ways in which several of the Artists are looking at –“seeing” or “perceiving” — their work.  Given a chance to show their latest and greatest illustration without overwhelming the website viewer is a challenge to be sure.  For some, it’s obvious.  For others, especially those Artists with various styles or artists who have come a long way in a short time, it takes some thought and doing.

Speaking of doing, how are those manuscripts and book dummies coming along?

Happy creating.  And happy Thursday afternoon,

Nicole T.
